Telford's pet & kennel name are very relative to him, his pet name comes from the place where his Mum & I travelled to make him! His kennel name relates to the fact that he is an absolute miracle...... At 6wks gestation Dusky started with a discharge which cleared after 2 days of anti-biotics (I put it down to the stress of fireworks on New Years eve) 12 day's prior to her due date to whelp the discharge started again, in the day's that followed Dusky passed mumified & formed puppies (4 in total) then 6 day's before her due date she started contracting & produced a fully formed dead puppy & then came my little miracle TELFORD. This was just the beginning of his battle, for the next 4 day's he failed to put on weight despite feeding off Mum so I started to bottle feed as well, still no weight gain,(just 4oz he weighed!) on checking Mum's milk on the 6th day as I had been doing every day I found her milk had started to turn brown in colour, that was it he had to come off Dusky completely. From then on it was just me, Telford, the bottle & not alot of sleep!! But for the first time he started to put on weight, only an ounce a day but it was progress, slowly but surely he started to grow. We took a day at a time & blessed every one that passed & that he was still with us. His eye's didn't start to open until he was 20 day's old & then the wait to see if he was blind from the toxicity in the womb & from Dusk's milk was almost unbearable. Now he is a lively, troublesome, normal "child" who puts a huge smile on my face every time I look at him. We have a bond that is so amazingly close that I can't imagine my life without him. He was just MEANT TO BE!!!!! Telford has gained his K.C Good Citizen Puppy & Bronze Awards at 5mths old at the first attempt, & his Silver at just 6 months old. He now also has his Gold award.
